Sharing and caring:

During hostel days we learn how to adjust. If you don’t know how to adjust, then sorry, the hostel is not a place for you. You can’t survive here. In the hostel, we have to adjust to each and every step. We have to adjust to different kinds of people and situations. Many children when they stepped into hostel life, they find it difficult to adjust  and it’s normal because till now only our parents are adjusting for us but in the hostel, there will be no one who will adjust for your comfort.

Take own responsibility:

Before hostel life, our mother used to take all our responsibilities but not anymore. In the hostel, we have to learn how to take responsibility for your own. Here we have to survive all alone. If you never stepped out from your comfort zone then it is the time to take steps out of your comfort zone.

During hostel days, we learn to be courageous enough so that we can face and tackle any kind of problem with lots of courage.

 Be independent:

In the hostel don’t depend on others for your each and every need, like we used to be at our home.

During the hostel days, we learn teamwork. In the hostel, working in a team is really important. Teamwork helps to reduce the workload and also builds trust between team members.

Managing money:

During hostel days, we learn the value of money and how money is important to survive. Then we realize why our parents kept saying that “understand the importance of money and don’t spend money on useless things”. We become very calculative about money. we try to spend less.  So it’s one of the very important life lessons that we learn during the hostel days.

Sharing and caring:

You can say that sharing things is an essential part of hostel life. You have to share the same towel, mug, same bed, clothes, and much more stuff on a daily basis. Now your accessories not only belongs to you but now it became a public property for your roommates. At first, it’ll be quite awkward but with the passage of time, you’ll get used to all these. There will be no more secrets between each other.  You also share your thoughts, happiness, and worries with each other under the same roof.

Time management:

Here no one is like your mom who will tell you what to do and when to do too. Like It is seven in the evening, no more playing games just go and study, it is  12  in the night, it’s time to take rest, it is 7 in the morning, get up & get ready for your classes. These kinds of things you will be missed here, You need to take the responsibility of your time management. You need to take out time for studies, for eating, waking up early in the morning. Here you need to be punctual otherwise you’ll miss every lecture.

Discovering yourself:

In hostel life, you’ll discover your strengths and weaknesses. Like how angry you can get, how much patience you have, to tolerate a few irritating people. How much fun you can do, how supportive you can be in times of need. You’ll discover your singing or dancing talent.

During hostel days, you’ll understand the meaning of true friendship. You’ll come to know that friendship is an inevitable part of life.

In hostel, your friends will become a family and they will fill the emptiness of your family in hostel life, they’ll be always there to support you like your family. They will accept you with your flaws and goods.

The friends you’ll make in hostel days they’ll remain with you for the rest of your life.

No complaining:

While living in hostel you will forget to do complain about everything, especially for food because here you can’t expect that you will get a tasty meal like your mother’s hand. No way, here you’ll get only boring meals tasteless, without spices, without salt. You have to be accustomed to eating this type of meal. At first, you will not be even able to swallow this food, but you will like this food over time.
